spring cleaning

English muffins rising.
I've gotten way, way, waaay out of the habit of blogging. Oops!

In honor of the first day of Spring, I decided to do a bit of spring cleaning here and update my organization and header. I scanned one of my favorite vintage sheets up there. It's so hard to find purples, this way if I use the fabric in a sewing project, I'll remember what it looks like!

I haven't been completely dormant for the last six months. I have been sewing and doing a good bit of cooking, baking and creating. I've completed several baby quilts from vintage sheets, reupholstered an ottoman, spent a little time learning the basics of building in my father in law's shop and even begun to learn some paper piecing. So, I'll have some things to share in the upcoming weeks!

Although I've been pretty negligent in this space, I'm excited to be back. I've been focusing on learning to do more and more myself, from scratch. From English muffins (pictured!) and homemade stocks; to customizing storage for our tiny space, I'm fleshing out my understanding of self-sufficiency. Pretty soon there will also be gardening things to talk about and I'm hoping to get back into the habit of taking photos as well.

I've updated the links on the sidebar, so if anyone is interested, he or she can now follow me on instagram, pinterest and blog lovin' (crazy about google reader, right?!). I have not neglected those areas over the last six months!

Happy first day of spring, y'all!
